How would you like to create your own home recording studio using your computer to create music? My name is Zo Slater. I have been creating, marketing and promoting music for over 10 years.I have my own production company/ record label, Domination Empire Productions, and have produced and released a series of songs, albums and instrumental mixtapes such as The Come Up and The First Cause volumes. Even though many successful musicians record their music at high end and professional recording studios it is possible to create music with the same high quality and professionalism  right from your home. 

 Years ago I started with a 4 track  recording deck (OK, that was a long time ago). Now I own a digital mixer that I've had for years, a Roland VS 1880 that I attached an Numark turntable to.But other than owning those pieces of equipment, most of my recordings is now done on my computer. The audio and midi software available today for computer recording is useful. You can record multiple tracks, edit the recordings and add special effects as desired. Many of the audio recording programs come with their own special effects such as reverb, compression, flanger, and chorus, to name a few. Some of the recording software can also accept third party effects such as vocal removers, tube amp effects and many more.

Multitrack recording software allows for recording various live instruments, vocals, etc, onto individual tracks. After recording one track, you can play it back while recording another. Once finished, you can mix all the individual tracks down into one stereo track. Some recording software will import and record both audio and MIDI, some audio only. If you have a MIDI keyboard or other MIDI instrument, be sure to pick software that handles both formats.

Creating a simple home audio recording studio is easy. In addition to software, an audio and/or midi interface will allow you to plug all kinds of audio components, microphones and instruments into your computer for live recording, recording from tape or even from your old vinyl lp’s. You can also use a home stereo system as an interface for audio components by running cables to it from your computer’s sound card. A laptop with recording software and a USB interface can serve as a totally portable recording studio. And again, if you have MIDI instruments, be sure to get an interface that will allow connecting them in addition to audio components and instruments.

Zo the Magnificent Announces New Instrumental Mixtape

Chicago hip-hop producer and VJ, Zo the Magnificent is set to release his new instrumental mixtape titled, The House of 7's, on his  label Domination Empire Records. The mixtape consists of instrumental hip-hop tracks all produced and mixed by Zo himself. There has been no official release date for the mixtape but a video for the first track,World Renowned, is in the works.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Zo Slater . Chances are you haven't heard of me before. But when you finish reading this, you'll be glad you finally did. I graduated from a small college and was filled with ambitious dreams for the future.
