Zo the Magnificent's Hip-Hop Favorites

In 1998, Zev Love X of the seminal rap group KMD re-emerged as a masked super villain known as MF Doom, released "Operation: Doomsday", created multiple aliases, then worked on collaborative side projects with Madlib and Dangerdoom with Danger Mouse. This long awaited follow-up to "Operation: Doomsday" was originally released in late 2004 and has since been out of print. The special dual package includes an hour long DVD of live performances and behind the scenes footage from the MM..FOOD Drive Tour.

After strolling down the cracked boulevards of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn - looking ghetto-queen lean and chocolate-wine fine - the mack momma who answers to the name Lil' Kim is rocking rugged on her Undeas/Big Beat/Atlantic debut disc, "HARD CORE."
Certified Multi-Platinum (2 times) by the RIAA. (3/01)

This single disc tour de force of uncut Kane singles out 17 of his best tracks from '88-'94. A lyrical master, Kane's influential body of work comes across as timeless on classic raps including "Raw," "Set It Off," "Ain't No Half-Steppin," the live cut "Wrath Of Kane," and the #1 single, "Smooth Operator," and more

Born Russell Jones in Brooklyn, Ol' Dirty Bastard-a name he chose because "there was no father to his style" broke out of the borough in the '90s as a founding member of East Coast rap masters Wu-Tang Clan. Blending rapping and singing, Dirt's unique delivery and outrageously personality connected big time, and he followed Method Man as the second Clansman to launch a solo career. Scrapes with the law and personal troubles mounted, though, and ODB passed away in 2004 while recording new material, but his larger-than-life impact on hip-hop is a constant.

Contains 75-plus minutes of brilliantly remastered "sheets of sounds". Favorites from their complete Elektra repertoir including the rare B-side "It's Not A Game" and the essential smath "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.). Includes cuts from the hit soundtracks Poetic Justice and Menace II Society and "Take Your Time" from Pete Rock's solo debut, Soul Survivor. Liner notes from Village Voice contributor Charlie Braxton, who deems Rock "one of hip-hop's most innovative producers ever."

Two of this generation's most respected hip-hop artists, Danger Mouse and MF Doom have come together for this album, inspired by Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's popular late-night animation network. Doom, with his near obsession with masked identities and superhero personas, and Mouse, with his murky, ethereal soundscapes that cloud men's minds like Mandrake, are the perfect partners for the project, and each has inspired the other to the finest work of their careers. "The Mouse & The Mask" contains character voices and skits from Adult Swim's most popular original shows, including "Aqua Teen Hunger Force", "Sealab 2021", and "Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law", along with guest appearances by Cee-Lo, Talib Kweli, and Ghostface Killah.

"The Wire" soundtrack features artists such as Tyree Colion, Rod Lee, Diablo and DJ Technics. It also contains four unique versions of Tom Wait's "Way Down In The Hole," which serves as the opening theme for "The Wire" and has been performed on each of the last four seasons by a different acts. "The Wire" soundtrack is as rigorously conceived as the series itself, and makes for truly compelling listening. It's essential for fans of the series as well as for anyone interested in hip hop that authentically comes from the streets. This is an alternate version to the 32-track complete edition, and focuses exclusively on the locally produced hip-hop tracks

Indie powerhouse Tommy Boy records was born in Tom Silverman's NYC apartment in 1981 when the entrepreneurial trade mag publisher began releasing the best of the demos crossing his path. He struck gold with the label's revolutionary debut, Afrika Bambaataa & the Soul Sonic Force's "Planet Rock." One of the only 12" singles ever to sell 600,000+ copies, it laid the foundation for the genre-defining house that Tommy built. Tommy Boy and its stable of stars led the way as the first wave of hip-hop's artistic translation of urban street culture bcame a mass-appeal phenomenon. With repeated high-charting crossover success, Tommy Boy earned almost 80 gold and platinum citations, and the label's groundbreaking grooves are essential pillars of hip-hop, as evidenced in this new collection of many of their greatest early tracks.

Interview With Digital Media Producer/Hip-Hop Producer Zo Slater

The following is an interview from Sonic EBooks with digital media and hip hop producer, Zo “the Magnificent” Slater , who wrote the e-book “Zo Slater's Book of Short Stories”  published by his company Domination Empire Productions. The book is a collection of short stories written by Zo Slater. Its release has become an underground cult classic and has caught the attention of underground and internet media outlets.

Sonic EBooks met up with Zo Slater in Beverly Hills promoting his book “Zo Slater’s Book of Short Stories”. We were able to interview him in his lavish studio apartment that’s worth $1.4 million.

Sonic EBooks: Where are you from?

Zo Slater: Chi-Town. Chicago

Sonic EBooks: Tell us your latest news. What’s been going on with you lately?

Zo Slater: I’m working on a few projects. I’m currently working on my new instrumixtape “The Chi-Town Chronicles”. It’s a double album. Nothing but instrumentals produced by me. I also just signed a new hip hop artist to my label “Kidd Animator”.

Sonics EBooks: When did you begin writing?

Zo Slater: I’ve always been a writer. Ever since I was real young. I wrote my first book at like seven years old. It was a book about me growing up in the projects. I created the cover and everything.

Sonic EBooks: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

Zo Slater: Well I've got several books written that I haven’t published yet, but “The Book of Short Stories” is the first I put into the market.

Sonic EBooks: What inspired you to write the book?

Zo Slater: I wrote “The Book of Short Stories” in college. I had written a bunch of stories in class and decided to select the best ones to compile into a book. The stories in “The Book of Short Stories” were the best that I thought should be put into the book.

Sonic EBooks: Do you have a specific writing style?

Zo Slater: I have an unorthodox way of creating things anyway, whether its writing a book, creating music, making a video, you know, whatever. I don’t like to do things the traditional way.  I’m different. The stories in the book are like various situations or events someone out there has experienced or heard about. There’s only one science fiction story in it. The rest is reality based type stuff. I put the reader right in it. Right in the situation. Up close and personal. Even though the stories are short, you still walk away as if you read a whole book or even wishing it was more to read, hoping for a whole book.

Sonic EBooks: Is there a message in your stories that you want readers to get?

Zo Slater: There’s a message in each story. I mean there’s nothing wrong with writing for entertainment purposes, because that’s what I do, but I want to write fiction stories with a message. Real stuff. I’m influenced by Donald Goines’ books and other black authors. I like that gritty, real type stuff. That’s my style also. In your face realness.

Sonic EBook: Is the book based on your own experiences or based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

Zo Slater: In a way. I’m sure most people know people similar to characters in the book. I know a few people that you can say some characters in my book were based on.

SonicBooks: What books have most influenced your writing career?

Zo Slater:  I would say  Iceberg Slim’s Pimp, Richard Wright’s Black Boy, The Hardy Boys, and honestly in a crazy way, comic books. So as you see, my work is influenced from books and genres across the board. I try to combine many elements in my work to create something new.

Sonic EBooks: What books are you reading now?

Zo Slater: None at the present time. I’m too busy writing my own (laughing).

Sonic EBooks: What are your current projects?

Zo Slater:  I’m soon about to release my book “Start Your Own Digital Label” and after that I’m looking to release “How to Become a Self Made C.E.O”. Both are self improvement books, teaching the reader how to achieve success.  Start Your Own Digital Label deals with the future of the music industry and starting an internet based label and “How to Become a Self Made C.E.O.”deals with how to think and make the moves of a fortune 500 C.E.O. Both interesting subjects if you ask me.

Sonic EBooks: Name some entities that you feel supported you.

Zo Slater: I have to thank the staff at my company, Domination Empire Productions. We’re very much like
family over there and they’ve been great in building the company and helping getting projects out to the people. I also would like to thank Warner Music Group. They’ve been very supportive and I got a deal and a few projects I’m working on over there. So stay tuned.

Sonic EBooks: Do you see writing as a career? Very much so. It’s what I do. It’s what I’m good at. I love to write. I love to create. I got a lot of books I’m planning to release real soon.

Sonic EBooks: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your life?

Zo Slater: Yes and no. Yes, because I’m always trying to top myself and of course we all feel as if we can change the past we would’ve done some things differently. But I also believe in working with the hand that God deals you. So I have mixed feelings. But I’m kind of content. But I think my future is brighter.

Sonic EBooks: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your life?

Zo Slater: Time management (laughing).I’m working on so many projects. Not just my own but for others. I been working behind the scenes for years and if people knew what it takes to produce stars, complete projects or to simply run a business it’s grueling. It’s liberating but grueling. I love it, but the work is intense. You got to go out and make stuff happen. It’s not like sitting back waiting on a paycheck. When you run your own company or try to earn a living in ways other than working a 9 to 5, you have to put in the work, energy and time or you won’t be successful. You won’t eat.

Sonic Ebooks: Who designed your cover?

Zo Slater: I did everything. From writing to design. I’m a true artist. I’m involved 95% in my projects. The other 5% is the others I have to do business with(laughing).

Sonic EBooks: Did you learn anything from being in the entertainment industry or business world and what was it?

Zo Slater: Yeah, I learned that there are not too many friends in the entertainment business and sometimes in business period. That’s why I learned how to do most things myself. Either people want to charge you extreme prices to get something done or people pretend to be your friends and make a bunch of empty promises or whatever.

Sonic EBooks: Do you have any advice for others?

Zo Slater: Believe in yourself because no one is going to believe in you like yourself. No one is going to pay you like you pay yourself. You determine your worth. You have to go out here and get it. Be self reliant and make your moves happen.

Sonic EBooks: Do you have anything specific that you want to say to the people?

Zo Slater: Yeah, to all my supporters, thanks. I really appreciate you all. To purchase “The Book of Short Stories” you can go to scribd.com. Don’t forget to check out my blog at www. zothemagnificent.blogspot and go to my website  Zo the Magnificent's Digital Biz for cool digital products like eBooks, software, music, just check it out. And oh yeah, be on the lookout for that new instrumixtape Chi town Chronicles. Hitting you sometime this year. Be on the lookout.

Create Your Own Home Recording Studio!

Discover how to easily build your own recording studio using a computer…right inside your home!

How would you like to create your own home recording studio using your computer to create music? My name is Zo Slater. I have been creating, marketing and promoting music for over 10 years.I have my own production company/ record label, Domination Empire Productions, and have produced and released a series of songs, albums and instrumental mixtapes such as The Come Up and The First Cause volumes. Most of these projects were created  in my home recording studio.

Even though many successful musicians record their music at high end and professional recording studios it is possible to create music with the same high quality and professionalism  right from your home.

Years ago I started with a 4 track  recording deck (OK, that was a long time ago). Now I own a digital mixer that I've had for years, a Roland VS 1880 that I attached an Numark turntable to.But other than owning those pieces of equipment, most of my recordings is now done on my computer. The audio and midi software available today for computer recording is useful. You can record multiple tracks, edit the recordings and add special effects as desired. Many of the audio recording programs come with their own special effects such as reverb, compression, flanger, and chorus, to name a few. Some of the recording software can also accept third party effects such as vocal removers, tube amp effects and many more.

Multitrack recording software allows for recording various live instruments, vocals, etc, onto individual tracks. After recording one track, you can play it back while recording another. Once finished, you can mix all the individual tracks down into one stereo track. Some recording software will import and record both audio and MIDI, some audio only. If you have a MIDI keyboard or other MIDI instrument, be sure to pick software that handles both formats.

Creating a simple home audio recording studio is easy. In addition to software, an audio and/or midi interface will allow you to plug all kinds of audio components, microphones and instruments into your computer for live recording, recording from tape or even from your old vinyl lp’s. You can also use a home stereo system as an interface for audio components by running cables to it from your computer’s sound card. A laptop with recording software and a USB interface can serve as a totally portable recording studio. And again, if you have MIDI instruments, be sure to get an interface that will allow connecting them in addition to audio components and instruments.

The digital revolution has made music recording easily available to anyone with a computer. If you enjoy music and want to do more than just download mp3’s from the Internet, get some multitrack recording software and start your own home sound studio.

An Open Letter From Zo Slater Announcing the Launch of the Digital Biz

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Zo Slater . Chances are you haven't heard of me before. But when you finish reading this, you'll be glad you finally did. I graduated from a small college and was filled with ambitious dreams for the future. I drove expensive cars and owned millions of dollars in real estate. All of this was possible because of my own online business finance company. I have been involved in financing well over $700,000,000, in businesses and commercial properties  throughout the years of my business. I traveled throughout most of the United States, as well as the Caribbean,  Hawaiian Islands, Canada and many different parts of Europe, both on pleasure and business. I was also chosen to work with a good friend of mine on his e magazine as an graphic designer and music journalist due to my background in digital media production.

Five years ago, my  business finance company shut down ,and I also left my job as an music journalist  and formed a hip hop group under my own label  that eventually didn't make it. Frankly, membership in the Illuminati is not for everyoneAfter five years of long hours, late nights and weekends at my home office,  I have  created over thousands  of  digital media products and services  and bound them into one site. My years of experience in online business and digital media has given me the privilege of compiling my knowledge into a variety of different programs that have all been tried, tested, and proven and will be offered on my website. I've recently packaged all of my years of experience in the digital media industry in such a way that will help you  as  a business owner , digital media artist or hobbyist.

ZO SLATER'S EBOOKS AND PROGRAMS SET TO BE SEEN ON NATIONAL TV

Due to the popularity of Zo Slater’s e-books and programs a national weekly news program wants to
devote an entire show to discuss his rise from the Chicago housing projects to internet millionaire and how he can help others make money. He says through his programs if you follow simple instructions you are bound to make some big money with very small out of pocket expenses.

This is what Greg Lewis of Chicago,IL  had to say:
"Thanks to Zo, he introduced me to a profitable opportunity. I was approached by him many times
before to assist him on a apartment building refinance deal but each time I passed on it. I didn’t know anything about properties or any of that type of stuff, but he assured me that it’s easy money. I am so glad I finally gave it a try just to see what I got in return for the minimal effort and no money required.
To my surprise, his company cut me a check for a total of $ 10,256.27 in 35 days".

DUE TO THE RECENT INCREASE OF POPULARITY & RESPECT ZO SLATER’S E-BOOKS AND PROGRAMS HAS ATTAINED, HE IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON A DOCUMENTARY PROJECT AND SEEKING INVESTORS. CONTACT THE DIGITAL BIZ FOR MORE INFORMATION OR EMAIL US AT INFO@ZOTHEMAGNIFICENT.BIZ

A MEMBER OF MY SERVICE STAFF FOUND $177,000 HIDDEN IN MY BASEMENT!

One day a member of my service staff that I hire each week at my home was cleaning out my basement, when she discovered a large garbage bag that was buried beneath some clothes in my closet. She opened the bag and found it was full of cash. Twenties, fifties and hundreds - all neatly rubber-banded in labeled piles. She immediately told me what she found because she said that she’s a trustworthy and honest employee and don’t believe in taking things that don’t belong to her, even if it was enough money for her to take off with and not have to work for me or anybody else again. It was more money than she earned working for me in a year. And I appreciated her honesty. As a reward I gave her a nice amount of cash that was enough to make her happy and comfortable and she also insisted on continuing to work for me because she really enjoys it.  I had a habit of counting money at home and tossing it in a garbage bag to let it just add up. I called it my rainy day stash. But what happened is that unconsciously I quit doing it and totally forgot about the bag of cash. Plus it’s easy to lose and forget things in my house, its large enough to accommodate guests and dinner parties of up to 50 people.

After I gave that employee her share of the cash, I wanted to share the wealth with others. Instead of giving more of the cash away I decided to buy laptops and Nike shoes and apparel  to reward my most loyal and trusted customers. And it’s a contest that all of you are invited to participate in. Through this promotional campaign I hope to increase the Digital Biz’s popularity and sales. All you have to do is enter your email and contact info at the Digital Biz website to enter or email us at info@zothemagnificent.biz. If your name is pulled in our lottery you get a free laptop or Nike shoes or apparel. That’s all it takes, no strings attached. No purchase necessary!!! We want to earn and keep your future business at the Digital Biz, and I’m willing to pay for it!!! Take care, and enter to get your free laptop or Nike apparel.

Digital Biz Gives Away Free Stuff!

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM Zo Slater "Owner of the Digital Biz": Let me tell you a little about myself. I had a profitable online business finance company for a few years. I made MILLIONS OF DOLLARS! I often flew in business or first class flights, rode in expensive chauffeured cars, stayed at five star hotel accommodations, dined at gourmet restaurants, and traveled with a small entourage. I hung out with the rich and famous and I splurged money on things such as diamond rings, gold and platinum chains, luxury cruises, motorbikes, cars, boats, and other expensive luxury items.

Then in 2007 my business began falling off. It was the economy. Due to my lavish spending I didn’t have anything to save or invest, and was moving down into the ranks of the poor. Then I began to think how can I get back up on my feet and teach others as well how to "come up" or "get rich".

I became rich AGAIN by selling books, tapes, DVDs, and conferences to my own private market of small business owners. Now I’ve launched a new website, “The Digital Biz”, which is your favorite source for digital media production in areas such as multimedia production, music production and promotion ,internet marketing, business services, internet business opportunities, electronics, interactive games, music videos, etc.

I produce, promote and distribute thousands of products a year. I’m distributing free products, prizes, e- books, software, music and more for my brand promotion. I’m hoping to increase the popularity and sales of the Digital Biz with this campaign.

All you need to do is enter your email and contact information at Digital Biz or email the info center at info@zothemagnificent.biz.
